Dr. Kevin Fu, Director of the Archimedes Center for Health Care and Medical Device Cybersecurity at Northeastern University, will participate in the Medical Device Cybersecurity Roundtable at Safeguarding Health Information: Building Assurance through HIPAA Security 2026.
Hosted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights, the conference will take place September 2–3, 2026, at the NIST campus in Gaithersburg, Maryland, with a virtual attendance option. The program will explore the evolving healthcare cybersecurity landscape, the HIPAA Security Rule, and practical approaches to protecting electronic health information.
Dr. Fu will join representatives from NIST, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, McLaren Health Care, and Siemens Healthineers for the roundtable on September 3 at 10:55 a.m. ET. The discussion will bring together perspectives from research, regulation, healthcare delivery, and industry to examine the cybersecurity challenges facing connected medical devices.
